Family Advocates
At Edison High School, we continue to work diligently to ensure that all of our students feel connected and are successful in school. One way we do that is through our Student and Family Advocates.
Christie Roiz-Guevara
Bilingual Student and Family Advocate
Spanish and English
My name is Christie Roiz-Guevara. I have worked at Edison High School since 2004 as a Family Liaison. I am Mexican-American and a native Spanish and English speaker. I grew up migrating from Texas to Minnesota. My family decided to make Minnesota our permanent home in 1989. As a teenager, I attended three different high schools. I know how difficult it is to transition from place to place and to be separated from family and loved ones. I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work at St. Catherine University. I strongly believe that with hard work, dedication and having a support system, anything is possible!
